Army Intercepts and Destroys 18 of 20 Iranian Missiles That Entered Jordanian Airspace
Al-Taj News – The official spokesperson for the Jordan Armed Forces – Arab Army stated that the Hashemite Kingdom of Jordan was subjected in recent hours to a missile attack originating from Iranian territory.
The official spokesperson explained that Jordanian air defense systems dealt with 20 ballistic missiles launched toward Jordanian territory, successfully intercepting and destroying 18 of them, while two missiles fell in areas with no population centers.
The official spokesperson affirmed that the Jordan Armed Forces – Arab Army dealt with the threat in accordance with approved operational procedures, in a manner that ensures the protection of the Kingdom’s airspace and the safety of citizens, and that monitoring, follow-up, and assessment operations are still ongoing.
According to field assessments, no loss of life was recorded, thank God, as a result of the attack.
Specialized teams began dealing with the sites where shrapnel and falling debris landed, securing them and taking the necessary measures to ensure the safety of the surrounding areas.
The Jordan Armed Forces calls on citizens not to approach any unknown objects, shrapnel, or falling debris, and not to touch or move them, and to immediately notify the relevant authorities upon finding them, in order to safeguard their safety and that of the specialized teams.
The armed forces also stresses the need not to circulate rumors or unverified information, and to rely on statements issued by official authorities as the authorized source of information concerning the situation.
The Jordan Armed Forces – Arab Army affirms that its surveillance, warning, and air defense systems are at the highest levels of readiness and preparedness to deal with any threat, and that its units and formations continue to carry out their duties around the clock to protect the Kingdom, its security, and the sovereignty of its airspace.
The armed forces continues to monitor and continuously assess developments in the situation, and will announce any information or developments that warrant informing citizens through its official channels.
